Rainy Day

As I watch people panic here in Houston over the arrival of Alex, I have to laugh. Half the office is staring at radar images and weather reports, the other half is oblivious to the storm. I see people lined up at gas stations filling up their cars. The storm is 500+ miles away and not coming this way and people are going crazy. I guess in some way it's good to go through the motions so that we can be prepared for the next one, it's just the non-stop news coverage. That and the oil spill dominates. yawn.

Well, I'm stepping off the soapbox now.

Later.

Another Day

I am not sure why I still have this. I don't post much to it, not that anyone cares. Rough days at work training the boss' son. He's like a baby giraffe. He knows what he's got to do, he's just all wobbly. He'll get there. I've done as much as I can do to help him learn the functions, the rest he's got to learn on his own.

The World Cup refs suck so bad they've formed their own vacuum. Nuff said.

In my effort to lose a few LB's, my walking 3-5 times a week is going well. I've actually lost 15 pounds in 2.5 months. Nice and slow I guess. This way I can still eat some of what I love and not feel guilty about it.

Okay. Signing off.

General Rambling

For the past few weeks I've been fighting off a bug. I never really got super sick, just the basic runny nose and cough due to cold and sore throat. I've got it licked but still have a weird cough every once in a while. I think if I got several nights in a row of really good sleep I'd be much better. The bad thing is I have no excuse for not. I bowl on Tuesdays and am home by 10pm. College football is over so I can use the excuse of watching west coast games either. Maybe I need to cut down on my caffeine intake. I don't really drink that much, but maybe that is too much.

Two weeks ago, my wonderful mother had knee replacement surgery. She is recovering nicely. So much so that the doctor is impressed. I figured she would be only half as far as she is now, but she is determined to get off of the walker then cane as quickly as possible. I'm really proud of her.

I guess that is it for now.
